Weeks before the official auction of IPL 2023, several players registered their names to go into the auction pool as fresh picks.

IPL 2023 Base Prices of Star Players

According to the BCCI statement (via Cricbuzz), a total of 991 players have registered themselves for the upcoming IPL 2023 auction – which is set to take place on December 23rd in Kochi. The whole list included 185 capped, 786 uncapped, and 20 players from associate nations.

Some of the notable foreign players with 2 crores as their base price include;

Tom Banton, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, Tymal Mills, Jamie Overton, Craig Overton, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Ben Stokes, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Chris Lynn, Kane Williamson, Adam Milne, Jimmy Neesham, Rilee Rossouw, Rassie van der Dussen, Angelo Mathews, Jason Holder, and Nicholas Pooran.

Amongst the list, Sam Curran and eight other English players fall in the highest bracket range, while the Australian pack is led by all-rounder Cameron Green and others. It’s interesting that Mitchell Strac stood out in the IPL 2023 – standing on his promise of putting his nation first over third-party leagues.

Indians on the auction list with 1 crore as base price include Mayank Agarwal, Manish Pandey, and Kedar Jadhav. While Manish Pandey was dumped by Lucknow Super Giants, Kedar Jadav went unauctioned this year. Mayank Agarwal, on the other hand, was replaced by Shikhar Dhawan and dumped by Punjab Kings altogether!

Though the list contained hundreds of names, it’ll eventually be filtered out by the franchises with prioritized names putting up as preferences before the auction starts. Well, they have already announced their retention lists earlier, thus, now have fewer options to select from. Stay tuned to us to know more.
