Who Was Takeoff and Why Was He Killed?

Kirshnik Khari Ball, born on June 18, 1994, grew up in Atlanta along with his cousins and was raised by his aunt Edna Marshall. He is the nephew of famous rapper Quavo. All of them belong to the famous hip-hop Migos family. They have collaborated on many famous songs that have been listed in the top 10 of Billboard Hot 100. He is famously known as Takeoff, the rapper and songwriter. His songs featured celebrities like Nicki Minaj and Cardi B.

His music career began as a part of the Migos trio. Their albums began to sell in 2016 after “Bad and Boujee.” Takeoff was seen in the background scenes of the song, and he was not credited for it either. He addressed the issue later in an interview and clarified that he was busy recording the song instead of featuring in it. He is best known for his studio debut – “The Last Rocket,” which was released in 2018. That was his only solo release.

Though not prominent among the Migos trio, his solo album changed everything, and he has been declared the best rapper among the trio. He is known for his distinct voice and mannerism. He brings flow to the song, and Gucci Mane,  mentor to the Migos, once said, “that dude there — it’s crazy the way he was spitting; it reminded me of Bone Thugs, like how they used to be rapping back in the day.” That made Migos last longer than many others in the field.

He has been much of an introvert and only talked when necessary. He is more focused on the music at work and was nicknamed “The Silent Killer.” If he doesn’t like to do any work, he wouldn’t do it at any cost and does things his way. He is known to be down to earth and cool dude among his fans. He was, however, surrounded by controversies when the trio was caught taking marijuana for a concert. In 2020, he was proven innocent in an assault case filed by a woman for lack of proper evidence.

Regarding his ultimate death, police are investigating the case to find out the proper cause yet. But for now, it’s reported that Takeoff had engaged in a brawl at the 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas, on late October 31st, 2022. Some noted that Takeoff was shot in the head by an unknown person on the scene when his uncle Quavo was rolling dice. He, along with two others, was shot while Quavo was left unharmed.

Takeoff was declared dead on the spot at 2.30. a.m, on November 1st, 2022. Investigating the incident, the Houston Police Department said, “We are not releasing an identity of the deceased victim until his family is notified & ID verified by Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.” Hearing the news of Takeoff’s death, many people and fans expressed shock over his sudden demise. Many celebrities took to Twitter and expressed their grief. His fans paid a huge tribute to him.
