Scotland Outperformed West Indies in T20I World Cup 2022 Qualifiers

Following the inspiration from Namibia vs Sri Lanka yesterday, Scotland today has defeated the West Indies in the Qualifier Group matches. Scotland has outshone West Indies in both departments, winning by a significant margin in their opening match.

Scotland Beat West Indies by 42 Runs

Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, West Indies failed to draw any wickets in the powerplay. But soon after that, Jason Holder stepped in to scalp Michael Jones and Mathew Cross, while Alzarri Joseph picked the other two middle-order batsmen.

Well, by the end of their innings, ScotScotland Outperformed West Indies in T20I World Cup 2022 Qualifiersland had managed to post a good score of 160 runs – with the help of Calum MacLeod and George Munsey, who stood from the very beginning and scored 66 runs. Except for Jason Holder, all other West Indies bowlers have been fairly thrashed by Scotland.

And with a target of 161 runs, West Indies started losing the match from an early point. They had lost both their openers within the powerplay and others in consecutive overs since the end of it. Mark Watt and Michael Leask have been the highlights of Scotland bowling, who broke the entire West Indies middle and lower orders.

Together, they had scalped 6 wickets (including a run out) to hand Scotland their first win in the tournament. Though West Indies is having some of the best players in the T20I WC tournament, they’re struggling to maintain form. And despite being a two-time T20I World Cup champions, they had lost to Scotland and are now on the verge of elimination from T20I World Cup qualifiers!

Well, they still got a couple of matches to prove themselves and step into the Super 12 stage. So does Scotland, who just gained a win.
