ICC Revealed the Prize Money for Men’s T20I World Cup 2022 Winners

Just a couple of weeks ahead of the Men’s T20I World Cup 2022, ICC announced the prize list for winners, runners, semifinalists, and even participants.

The pool is now big enough to accommodate all the teams, with the winners taking $1.6 million home in cash! Well, the runners get half of that, and semifinalists get $40,000 each. There have been a total of 16 teams participating in this tournament that’d run for nearly a month span!

T20I World Cup 2022 Prize Money

The T20I World Cup is this year’s mega event as per ICC’s schedule, and weeds are already excited about it. A number of rising teams have fought among themselves to secure a spot in the tournament, while the full-time members are already in it. All these will be played in accordance with the new rules set by ICC.

Currently, we have a total of 16 countries participating in this year’s edition of the T20I World Cup. This includes Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa, making it into the Super 12 stage already, while Namibia, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, UAE, West Indies, Scotland, Ireland, and Zimbabwe – are divided into two groups of four teams each – in the First Round.

The fixtures of the First Round will start from October 16th onwards, with the top two teams from each group securing their places in the Super 12 stage. Scheduled in Australia, the tournament spanning nearly a month, we shall have a bunch of moments coming this soon.

Well, even before that, ICC took pride in announcing the grand bounty of $5.6 million pool money for the teams in the tournament – with winners taking $1.6 million cash prize, runners-up taking half of that ($800,000), each of the four semifinalists taking $400,000, respectively.

And not just them, all the eight teams that exit the Super 12 stage will get $70,000 each, and every win in each of the 30 games in the Super 12 stage will be garnered $40,000 for the winning teams.

Aside from this, ICC is also rewarding $40,000 for each win in First Round, totaling $480,000 for 12 matches. And the teams that are knocked out of the First Round will get $40,000 each too, at the end of the tournament. All fixtures will happen on several grounds in Australia, with warmup matches between the Super 12 teams starting from October 10th onwards. Stay tuned to learn more.
